PIONEERING AUSTRALIAN LABORATORIES
Technological microbial skincare ingredients such as Lactobacillus Plantarum nourish the skin's microbiome system for dramatic youthfulNESS. THAT’S THE secret inside Christopher Hanlon’S® CULT-FAMOUS Skincare.
EFS™ – THE BOTANICAL NUTRIENT BASE OF HANLON'S® ANTI-ÂGEING CELLULAR COSMETICS
EFS™ is the acronym for the botanical filtrate used in Hanlon's® anti-ageing cosmetics. Importantly CHRISTOPHER HANLON® Laboratories manufacture their own exclusive cellular concentrate which consists of freshly harvested aloe vera into which botanical extracts like chamomile, calendula, lavender, rose hip, siberian ginseng, phyto-marine collagen, vitamins and peptides are added. Next-Gen vegan probiotics such as Lactobacillus Acidophilus (think yoghurt) are used during electromagnetic biofermentation. The aloe vera filtrate is finally hand blended in micro-batches to make Christopher Hanlon's® anti-ageing cellular cosmetics: think face moisturizer to shaving cream. EFS™, the exclusive proprietary technique, took 20 years to commercialise.
"Our objective has always been to formulate bio-fermented skin, hair and body care products of the highest quality. we investigate ingredients with proven recordS of safety, efficacy and sustainability."

THE ARTISAN + HIS-STORY
What now appears as decades ago the first CHRISTOPHER HANLON® formulas were sold in recycled Vegemite jars from a market stall. Hand mixed in an Australian backyard using native plants and fresh aloe vera. Concocted using a traditional, fermented yoghurt based cosmetic recipe – a gift handed down from his mother Delia Elizabeth Hanlon. The original premise was simple, nutritious skin botanicals blended with soothing probiotics. The result: uplifting.
CHRISTOPHER HANLON® Laboratories led by the advanced research skills of George Damian Myers, have perfected this ancient art of cosmetic making using modern manufacturing equipment and an updated process his team calls Méthode Électromagnétique™. What was the number one selling men’s skincare brand in Australia’s largest department store is today a renowned Australian luxury brand boasting an international cult following of hip social luminaries, entrepreneurs and devoted connoisseurs from Sydney, New York, Paris to Geelong.
EXCLUSIVE ORGANIC BIOTECHNOLOGY
The prized Australian grown aloe vera gel base (EFS™) soothes and repairs the appearance of all skin types using advanced microbiome skin technology. Unlike traditional fermentation, which is used to make products such as beer and yoghurt, precision biofermentation tunes the microorganisms to produce specific novel enzymes, lipids and proteins on a commercial scale. "The advantage of precision biofermentation, or EFS™, is that it can lead to cosmetic products with enhanced biological functions and new ingredient compounds that were hitherto not possible via traditional fermentation. This expands sustainability and consumer choice." George Damian Myers, Head of Research and Development, explains.
Interestingly, the final texture is refreshingly soft and silky bursting with moisture. However, depending on biofermentation they may also appear fluffy, rubbery, stretchy or slippery – before being absorbed by the skin. Results? Skin rapidly reveals a visible sense of youthfulness and feels springy. Awakened.
VISIBLE FACE FACTS
With continual use skin cells appear to be re-trained to mimic the behaviour of natural youthful skin – regaining vitality. Results can last a lifetime. Skin is visibly strengthened. Collagen levels look amplified. Skin appears plumper, nutrient rich, bursting with energy. Alive.

Essential Oils (Powerful plant based natural perfume compounds that must be used in low skin-friendly concentrations. Containing ingredients such as vitamins, antioxidants, trace elements, proteins and other biological substances often obtained by extraction and fractioning. It is estimated that only 5% of the world’s plants produce essential oils. They are said to be the plants natural remedy to ensure protective, regenerative and reproductive properties. On average one drop of essential oil contains up to 150 active molecules. Importantly Christopher Hanlon® Laboratories do not sell individual essential oils for personal use because they believe consumers are not expert cosmetic chemists and therefore do not have the genuine know-how, responsibility nor capability to use these powerful ingredients in a safe and skin friendly manner)
Australian Grown Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadensis Miller is generally recognised as beneficial in skincare applications. This succulent plant contains a number of important components including: Vitamins A, C, E + B12; Enzymes: Aliiase, Alkaline Phosphatase, Amylase, Bradykinase, Carboxypeptidase, Catalase, Cellulase, Lipase, and Peroxidase; Minerals; Sugars including Polysaccharides; Plant Hormone Auxin and Gibberellin; Amino Acids including Salicylic Acid; Saponins which form about 3% of the gel and have a cleansing effect

TRADITIONAL ARTISAN TECHNIQUES
BIOFERMENTED WITH VEGAN PROBIOTICS
CHRISTOPHER HANLON® Laboratories have perfected the process of fermentation (Méthode Electromagnétique™) using: 1. Modern electric stainless steel fermenting tanks to improve product ageing and 2. Electromagnetic Induction Micro-Blending™ plus 3. Important technical input from WACKER®. George explains: "The use of an electromagnetic field reduces maturation times and improves the quality of our creams and organic perfumes. During ageing the product becomes less acidic as volatile compounds react with naturally present organic acids producing a plethora of delightful compounds colloquially known as esters." These fragrant esters reflect the health giving properties of the skin rejuvenating botanicals. Unpleasant components are precipitated out and the cosmetic becomes homogeneous in appearance. Hanlon adds: "It absorbs almost miraculously. It smells delicious. Feels super-nutritious and alive. It helps to keep the skin looking soft, plump and dewy. Youthful". Strains of vegan probiotics used in the biofermentation process may include: Next-Gen Vegan Lactobacillus Acidophilus™, Next-Gen Vegan Lactobacillus Casei™, Next-Gen Vegan Lactobacillus Plantarum™ and/or Next-Gen Vegan Bifidobacterium Lactis™. This exclusive CHRISTOPHER HANLON® process of green technology biofermentation (Méthode Electromagnétique™) results in velvety, rich, creamy cosmetic textures for vibrant looking skin and an appearance of youthfulness. Think ageless.
