PRIDE BEFORE PROFIT

CHRISTOPHER HANLON® prides itself on Australia's finest botanical ingredients and Australian cowhides sourced from small market gardeners, local growers and Australia's best cattle farms. It pays homage to a family heritage of Australian pioneers from Hanlon Road, Goomalibee Victoria, 1875. Our Certified Organic Aloe Vera for example is grown in sunny Queensland and processed directly on the farm so it's fresh and it's best. Our Australian Sandalwood, the base of many of our internationally prized perfumes, is recognised as one of the world's sweetest and is harvested from the drier northern hinterlands of Western Australia. The exotic Australian Truffle Extract used in our skincare, haircare and perfume is harvested from tiny village spots in Manjimup (in the west) to Tasmania in the south, the northern highlands of New South Wales and even in the country town of Oberon in Victoria. Australia’s truffle industry is now globally regarded along with international growers in Italy, France and Spain. Christopher Hanlon® prefers the French black truffle or Périgord truffle (Tuber melanosporum) grown in rich, granite or volcanic Australian country soil. On the other hand our wild harvested Sturt's Desert Pea Extract is an inhabitant of the Northern Territory while our deliciouus Aussie Vanilla Bean comes from the humid areas of far fetched Daintree Rainforest. Now you can cream, dream, spritz and almost dress: in the authentic richness and goodness of Christopher Hanlon® Australia.

HANLON® spent most of his adult life pursuing a dream for sustainabilty and artistic independance. His brand’s handmade products are of this earth, grown under the Australian sun or simple reminders to make considered future choices. He shares a passion for thoughtful consumption, prioritising quality over quantity and longevity over impulse. The brand’s unique style is often detailed, giving rise to functionality. Each batch is small – limited runs ensure no wastage and encourage a love of craftsmanship. Products and packaging components are often multifunctional to reduce the total environmental load and encourage re-use and multi-use modern consumer concepts.

HANLON® has been featured in: Harper's Bazaar Australia, GQ Australia, GQ Russia, Elle Hong Kong, Vogue Russia, L’Officiel Russia, Women’s Weekly Singapore, Qantas Magazine, Australian Financial Review, Sydney Morning Herald, Marie Claire Hong Kong, Sydney Star Observer, Marie Claire Australia, Metropolitan Style, Shop To You Drop, FHM Australia, Time Out Sydney, Mode, Sunday Telegraph, Studio Brides, Channel Nine Televison News, 2UE Radio with Alan Jones, Time Australia, South China Morning Post, Vogue Australia and Vogue China.

AUSTRALIAN ASTAXANTHIN

A naturally occurring micro-algae carotenoid obtained from sun drenched waters near the Great Barrier Reef. Possibly 1,000 times more effective antioxidant than vitamin E, used in liposome production, as a skin conditioning agent in CHRISTOPHER HANLON® cosmetics and exhibits visible anti-ageing skin smoothing properties. Acts as a natural sunscreen adjunct and may lighten the appearance of pigmentation whilst brightening the skins appearance. Australian Astaxanthin extract is derived from microalga haematococcus pluvialis. Non-GMO and Vegetarian.

AUSTRALIAN SANDALWOOD (Santalum Album) – KUNUNURRA

Australian grown Sandalwood has a unique oflactory profile and a low volatility rate making it an ideal base for CHRISTOPHER HANLON® Perfume. This low slow volatility means fragrances are time-released giving CHRISTOPHER HANLON® Perfumes an air of sophistication and unmistakable sense of olfactory luxury. Although the sandalwood oil is processed in Albany, Kununurra's geographical location is on the same equatorial zone as Southern India and therefore provides ideal climate and conditions for this species to flourish. The crop is nurtured and tracked over 15 years – until ready for harvesting. Precious CHRISTOPHER HANLON® Perfume contains Australian Sandalwood oils that have therefore taken over a decade to fully develop their olfactory profile. All CHRISTOPHER HANLON® Perfumes are further enhanced with his signature fermenting technique.

FUNCTIONAL FRAGRANCE

The benefits of natural Australian grown botanicals, like Western Australian sandalwood, extends beyond the scent profile. Natural sandalwood has been used for thousands of years to calm the mind and relieve anxiety in skin preparations and religious ceremonies. More recently molecular biological studies show that the chemical alpha santalol in sandalwood relaxes the nervous system. At the same time, this ingredient also causes physiological and self-rated arousal. This may explain its popularity in meditation when both a state of heightened mental arousal and calmness (clarity) is required. When a signature CHRISTOPHER HANLON® Perfume is added to skincare it may therefore provide additional anti-âgeing benefits via naturally present antioxidants. Indian sandalwood possesses over 125 different chemical compounds which cannot be replicated by artificial synthesis.

AUSTRALIAN MAHOGANY (Khaya Senegalensis) – NORTHERN TERRITORY

African Mahogany, Khaya Senegalensis, is grown in the Douglas Daly region of Northern Territory. The 14,000ha, unirrigated plantation is also the largest African Mahogany plantation in the world. This provides another rich base note that adds a unique olfactory profile to CHRISTOPHER HANLON® signature perfumes developed by Australia’s FIRST Perfumer®.

HANDMADE BY CHRISTOPHER

AUSTRALIAN LEATHER | NEXT-GEN VEGAN LEATHER

Handmade in Australia • Artisan Made • No Mass Manufacturing • No Mass Distribution • Not Owned + Produced by a Global Corporation (Handcrafted in a CHRISTOPHER HANLON® Atelier) • Australian Cowhide, Vegan Leather + Recycled Leather Luxury Goods. In addition we are committed to pursuing Eco-Conscious Recycled Fabrics that endevour to keep excess plastic out of landfill (and the ocean) while offering the same/similar level of durability as our other materials. To make the recycled polyester, water bottles are converted into plastic chips and then woven into a yarn. A single Christopher Hanlon® accessory product can provide new life to up to 30 used water bottles. Don’t just recycle. Upcycle.

CHRISTOPHER HANLON® prefers advanced, sustainable chrome-free Australian leathers created with vegetable pigments and earth minerals resulting in durable finished goods that can last for decades. Due to high manual labour input each item is expected to, and designed to, outlast commercially produced leather goods. Our hand cutting, hand applied studs and hand applied re-inforcements; result in time-consuming finishing techniques that cannot be achieved with standard mass manufacturing (eg., laser cutting, laser leather welding, the use of industrial solvents or toxic adhesive polymers). Our exclusive Christopher Hanlon® Australian leather, recycled leather and vegan leather substrates are ultimately soft-embossed by hand pressing with a 3D etched aluminium plate. Finally a 0.15-0.25mm protective scratch resitant coating is applied (sprayed by hand) and allowed to air dry: extending the bag’s life up to 30% (compared to the standard durabililty of uncoated materials and aniline leathers). Christopher Hanlon® finished leather, recycled leather and vegan luxury goods generally harbour less bacteria and produce minimal to no mould. Whereas traditional materials tend to eventually rot or break apart due to naturally present microbes such as micrococcus that attack structural bonds. Perhaps more importantly than sustainability is the (he)art of the matter. Each precious bag, leather belt and vegan leather wallet is stamped with the CHRISTOPHER HANLON® insignia – symbolising the piece has been authentically produced by Christopher and his skilled team of expert craftsmen. It’s a Work of HeArt™.
