Did you know pH is a chemical abbreviation of the French words ‘potentiel hydrogène’ – hydrogen potential? And that the numeral(s) indicate a measure of the acidity level? On average the skin’s pH is 4.5 - 5.5 meaning healthy skin is slightly acidic. A pH of 7 (that of pure water) is considered neutral. Anything below that is acidic and above it alkaline, so skin's natural pH is mildly acidic.
