Oud Imperial Ormeau is an aromatic gift from the heavens. It blends hypnotic Australian natives with biblical Oud, Green Olive, Opoponax and Blood Red-Orange Wine. Judiciously spiced with Licorice and Orange Patchouli this masterful perfume envelopes the skin with a raw smokiness of Royal Leather. Your second skin. This aphrodisiac Amber Oud combines traditionally forbidden fruit notes like Stiff Banana (aka Solid Dried Extract), Watermelon and Young Pink Cherry Juice with the sticky-sweet sap of Raw Kangaroo Paw. A sinful mixture of Lemon Balm, Osmanthus, Benzoin Crystals and Smoldering Rosewood add another sensual dimension. In particular the underbelly gourmand chord is softened with creamy Australian Daintree Rainforest Vanilla Bean. Addictive and almost narcissistic. Finally the smooth, raw woody profile of Oak, Fennel Pollen and Black-Bentwood project into a lingering sweet masculine intoxication. This purebred concoction releases enchanting animalistic notes. Christopher Hanlon® Perfume is formulated using a unique process called Méthode Électromagnétique Fermentation®. What does this mean? As such Christopher’s perfumes cannot be compared to conventional perfumes because notes have been fused displacing various accords and discords. The artist Christopher Hanlon® invented a new perfume genre, not based on traditional top, middle and base notes. Christopher adds: ‘I would estimate that 95% of perfumes today are retro in so far as they formulate using the classic 3 tiered hierachy of top, middle and base’. Hanlon’s® revolutionary process allows key base notes to be cancelled as softer notes are ironically amplified. Add to the equation botanical notes like Australian Bush Potato that have hitherto not been used in perfumery. The bizarre blending culminates in signature blends that are wholistic, pure and unique. Christopher Hanlon® invented the process in 1994 using crackpot methods at Paddington Markets which today have been scientifically perfected. Some call it the devotee's raison d'être. Others call it perfection.
His-Storical Note: Based out of Sydney and Geelong today, each fragrance is still weighed, mixed, fermented, macerated and hand filtered to carefully remove remnants of the botanicals by Christopher’s own hand. Artisan made has been a family tradition of the House of Hanlon® since the 1800s. This craft continues the Art of Hanlon's® perfume making into the future — a timeless take on his-story, bottled.
