Silver Penny was the original CHRISTOPHER HANLON™ perfume created in 1994 and carefully refined after two decades of backyard aromatic experiments. This classic Australian combination of floral notes is perfectly balanced with tropical Queensland citrus top notes but lavishly enriched with Western Australian Sandalwood Absolute. Bitter Orange Bergamot is juxtaposed and spliced with chards of Saffron, Neroli, Geelong Lemon and tangy Manuka, before Christopher Hanlon’s™ signature fermenting. The perfume has been skillfully blended with natural green notes of Violet and Patchouli. Finally the dry down lingers: a sophisticated fragrant concoction with a hint of Queensland Ginger.
His-Story: developed for personal use by Christopher Hanlon™, then sold to men particularly in the CBD, Surry Hills, Kings Cross, Darlinghurst and Paddington (Sydney) in the '90s. The worldwide consumer-frenzy this perfume has caused is now quite literally, legendary. Today this natural aromatic scent is one of our most popular amongst fashionable jet-set girls. Rather than composing the fragrance through the traditional hierarchy of top, middle and base, Hanlon’s® method allows a unified aromatic expression. In contrast, softer accords are often amplified and heavier notes are ironically attenuated. Méthode Électromagnétique™ produces a signature Christopher Hanlon® Perfume that is up to 300% more powerful. Intense, concentrated and longer lasting. Artist Christopher Hanlon® invented the genre, ignoring the 3 tiered tradition, while adopting an unorthodox aromatic interplay. Hanlon® adds: ‘95% of perfumes today are retro, in so far as they formulate according to the classic 3 tiered hierarchy’. The Hanlon® method allows softer notes to be amplified, intensely. Adding to his unique compositions, botanical notes like Australian Bush Potato are introduced – hitherto unused in perfumery. This blending culminates in fragrances that are more wholistic, pure and distinctive.
